Newborn photographer Fareham being creative…

Newborn photographer Fareham being creative…I can’t believe it June already, where did May go… There is a lot to look forward to in June.  Of course, this week celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Such a major milestone and not an event will see again in our lifetimes.  Then we have Father’s Day on 16th June, a special first for a lot of newborns’ daddies.

I am delighted to launch my Jubilee newborn photography competition this week.  Your chance to win a newborn photography session with wall art worth over £600.  If you are interested, click on the link here.

A couple of months ago I started planning the images I would use for my jubilee celebration promotions.  I reached out for some newborn models and was able to create some beautiful portfolio images.  I love the lilac photographs of Isla and Lucilla.  In lockdown I started knitting and haven’t stopped and love creating my own knitted wraps.

I’ve always been creative from a young age.   I loved to sew as a child, I was probably around 8 years old, and can remember being taught by one of our neighbours.  Her mother used to save spare scraps of material that I could use.  They are such special memories.  In lockdown I bought myself a new sewing machine and it has a little space in my studio where I can create unique newborn props.

At the beginning of the year, I visited the annual photography conference in London and bought the purple mattress for my newborn bed prop.  Looking at it, I thought I could make that.  So, I visited my local charity shop Rowan’s hospice and bought some material that I could use for the mattress. Love them and have more material to make more.

Some of you might have known that after the first lockdown I upgraded to a larger studio here at Cams Hall.  What with all my knitting and sewing, my studio storage is almost full  now.  I guess the more room you have the more you fill.  I bet I can squeeze a few more props that I make into the studio though.

If any of you mummies-to-be have a baby due in the next couple of months, I would love to hear from you as I am sure I am going to be creating lots more props that I will need willing little newborn models. If you are interested register here.
