Newborn Photographer Hampshire shared sibling memories ….I recently saw my niece’s holidays photographs on Facebook with my sister and family. My little great nieces Ella and Amelia bonding and creating special holiday memories together. I have lots of holiday memories with my sisters. Not like today where we have many holidays, in those days we only had one family holiday a year; it was a big thing for us. As siblings we share moments together, but I bet even though a shared family experience, we will all have our own special memories.
It often amazes me that even though we are brought up the same, the nature nurture debate, we can have totally different personalities. You might have seen this in my blog post on the order of birth.
The link below documents the connection of what it means to be a sibling and shares the work of Madeleine Waller
When families come to the studio for their newborn photographs, even if they don’t want parents’ photographs, they definitely want sibling photographs. This can be a bit challenging especially if the sibling is under 3 years old. I see the pleasure on the parents faces when I capture siblings together.
Little William did have his newborn photographs taken as we were in lockdown. I got to take his photographs at 6 months old and then recently when he came into the studio with his brother Samuel.
Little Poppy was so sweet. She became very fond of my studio teddy bear Arthur. She used some of my wraps, to wrap up Arthur like I did for her brother, Alex who was just 10 days old when he came to the studio. Poppy even got to take her first official photograph of the teddy posed.
I got to meet Oscar at his Mummy’s maternity session. He is such a kind and lovely boy and was so excited that his Mum and dad were having a little boy. I love the photographs of Oscar and his little brother Arthur. Arthur was just 8 days when he came to the studio and was so tiny. Gemma, Oscar and Arthur’s mummy shared with me. “just wanted to say that from start to finish with the maternity session and then Arthur’s newborn shoot you have been amazing and we loved the whole process”
Poppy and Alfie were amazing with their little sister Marnie. Poppy got a little upset when Alfie got to hold Marnie for the sibling photo so we let her hold Marnie by herself. It will be a special photograph for her to treasure. When they were leaving, I waved at Poppy and she came running back into Cams Hall and gave me a big cuddle. It was so special and unprompted.
Isabella came to the studio with her little brother Oscar who was just 12 days. He was a real star and slept all the way through his photo session. Isabella wasn’t too keen on having too many photographs taken but I love what we did manage to capture. This one with Oscar and Mummy makes me smile as really shows her character.
Some of my childhood photographs are so special and memories of my childhood. I hope that these siblings look back at these photographs with fond memories.
